HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! The best experience I’ve had in dealing with any attorneyI highly recommend Bill Berggren's law office for anyone considering filing for bankruptcy! About five years ago I had a bad experience with a lawyer in another state (unrelated issue) that unfortunately negatively changed the direction of pretty much my whole life ever since. So the thought of having to deal with a lawyer and the court system all over again, this time with a bankruptcy, scared the bejezuz out of me, and I procrastinated as long as I could possibly wait, because I was paralyzed by my fear that things would turn out differently than promised, like it did in my previous experience.Having moved to Raleigh only recently, I had no local family or friends to ask for lawyer recommendations. So I picked out a few names from website searches and started calling around. The first two places I called pretended to be the lawyer’s office, but I suspect they were both nothing more than answering services to take messages. A paralegal; from one of those offices called me back same-day and we talked for longer than two hours about my case. But by the end of the conversation, neither I nor my husband were convinced she knew what she was talking about, or for that matter, not even fully paying attention to what I was telling her. She kept repeating things she told me earlier within that same conversation, at times contradicting what she said earlier, and asked me many of the same questions three and four times!!Long story short, it was Bill’s office that I called for a second opinion, and to hopefully get some definitive answers to my questions that did not receive answers from the other office. It was Bill himself who answered the phone, which I thought was pretty cool, but then instead of telling me I had to set-up an appointment to discuss details, we dug right in to the details right then. When I hung-up, my husband and I looked at each other said: “He’s the one!”.I expected that the process of filing for bankruptcy would be tedious, stressful, and time-consuming. While it was all of those things, choosing Bill Berggren to represent me was the smartest choice I made. I felt like he was genuinely interested in helping people (me) to get out of bad situations. He is very organized and professional but also very personable, and easy to talk to. Speaking of easy to talk to, I also appreciated the ability to have easy access to him either by email or phone, when I had a question to ask him. The process of filing for bankruptcy requires a lot of fact-finding and producing LOTS of documentation/ paperwork, but Bill was right on top of it, and helped me to keep on top of it as well! This is one Law Firm were you are treated with Respect and Dignity , not a number. Of all things you get to meet with your Attorney, not a Paralegal. Mr. Berggren will make you feel right at home!! He will go over any concerns that you may have in regards to your case. You never feel rushed!! A big plus, Mr. Berggren will work with you on payments in regards to his fees for filling Bankruptcy.Mr. Berggren's Secretory is a sweetheart. She will offer you something to drink, that is unheard of at most Law Firms. If your thinking of filing for Bankruptcy, this is the only Law Firm to Consider!!

I have had a wonderful experience with Mr. Berggren and his team. I had no clue what bankruptcy was or what steps I needed to take in my situation. I was given options and all of the questions that I had were answered in the same day. I don't regret the decision that I made to file bankruptcy that day. I am very satisfied with my decision now that my chapter 13 is finished. The chapter 13 payments were set when I filed and I made my payments with no problem. I would recommend this law firm if you need to make the decision to file bankruptcy. Don't hesitate and give him a call. He is the best.

Had a consultation a month or so ago in regards to an elderly relatives' financial problems. We were 100% sure were were going to have to file bankruptcy for this relative, but when we met with William Berggren he advised us to wait for now and revisit the situation in a year. He could of very easily told us to file this bankruptcy, and collected our money, but he was very patient explaining the process and advising us to wait for now. If in a year we need to pursue this filing we will definitely us his law office.

William (Bill) Berggren is awesome; this is why: Over a year ago he helped me with Chapter 7. The other day (about 15 months later--and I am no longer a client/paying for his time) I call him for some needed documentation. I was thinking I would leave a voicemail and get the info within a week or so since I am not longer a client and this is probably not going to be his top priority. * Nope! Within 5 min. of calling him directly I had the info I needed in my inbox and he was happy to do it!In 2014 when I started the process, from the moment I sat down with him during the initial consultation, he let me know what to expect and how to plan. From Aug, 2014 until everything was complete in March 2015 Bill was with me every step of the way. He made a difficult decision and process as painless as it could be. If I had a question he would answer it the same day. His staff is professional and courteous, always willing to help and always answering emails quick. He sat with me at court and guided me through everything. There was no hidden fee's or additional cost. Absolutely everything he told me went according to plan. Mr. Berggren was referred to me when I felt like I had no other option but to declare bankruptcy. On my first visit, I had no knowledge of the process and was so ashamed and embarrassed that I cried a lot throughout the appointment. Mr. Berggren, was patient, sympathetic, and answered every question I had - even the stupid ones. He was reassuring and explained everything to me. He didn't rush me, but took his time and sometimes he had to explain things several times. His fee was lower than most, but the service was more than great. During the process, he was always available for questions, and guided me in the best direction that I needed for my circumstances (while taking the time to explain all options). I could not have picked a better attorney and I would recommend his services to anyone. Bankruptcy is a hard decision and used as a last resort, but he made it less stressful by being extremely reassuring throughout the whole process. I would recommend him to anyone without hesitation.

Considering the option of filing bankruptcy kept me awake many nights. When I finally built up the courage to contact an attorney, I pulled out my yellow pages and began making calls (I didn't want to ask friends or family if they had been in the same situation because I felt embarrassed and was still in denial). I contacted a few firms but Mr. Berggren and his assistant Mai were just what I needed to begin this process. My initial telephone contact with Mai was more than I bargained for. She was knowledgeable, patient and very easy to talk to. I was able to get an appointment within that same week and was ecstatic to find that the knowledge and patience didn't stop at Mai. I was very fortunate to come across Bill via Yelp reviews as I was looking for a bankruptcy lawyer. There were several five star reviews so I decided to give it a try. I contacted the law office and was shocked that Bill answered the phone. I expected to be immediately connected with an assistant. On top of reaching him directly- he had the time to talk to me right then and there over the phone. That was also rare- in my book. There’s something about a personal touch. Mr. Berggren is one of the most upstanding, caring people I have encountered. My/your best interest is what he looks after and the experience I have had with him is second to none other. I particularly like the fact that his office is NOT the type of law firm in a high-rise building downtown with many employees. This Law firm is above the rest in the Triangle area. We got caught in the financial bubble and wanted to get our debt under control. We tried our bank and of course they said NO.... Than we went to another firm and they wanted us to sell everything we worked hard for...That was not a option. My husband found William Berggren. And of course there was Mia, Mr. berggren assistant/paralegal. We have since falling a couple of times but each time Mr. Berggren had our best interest in the fore front at all times.We are soon to meet our obligation and begin again. "Consummate Professional" is an understatement. I met Mr. Berggren in 2015. I thought it would be a simple process of seeking a lawyer and paying his fee. You wouldn't believe how personal and professional this man is. Yes I met him in 2015 and he handled my case with great detail but I also dropped by his office this past month. He took the time to sit down with me, without asking for anything, and map out my issue and resolution. He likes to draw illustrations on his pad when he's discussing your case. 🙂 You get a lesson in law, history, etc. I ended up staying an hour longer than anticipated and listened to Mr. Berggren speak. I'm so thankful I scrolled across Adams, Portnoy & Berggren, PLLC Attorneys At Law. First of all the staff is Professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and respectful. The Legal Assistant Mai Foulkrod helped me with my case. I had no choice, but to the point of poverty level after my Husband passed away struggling years. I have been a full time College Student this past year and decided ultimately that Chapter 7 was my best option. I will explain it this way...You will not feel in the dark.
